Innisfree Irish Folk Ensemble Irish/Scottish Classical-Folk
Ensemble
INNISFREE is a Chicago-based group
who have enjoyed exploring Celtic and Appalachian folk music for
the past ten years. Second place winners in "Ensemble Arrangements"
at the Chicago all city Irish Competition ("Fleadh Cheoil")
for two years in a row, their music has been enjoyed from coffeehouses
to cathedrals, and from historical re-enactments to folk festivals.
Their innovative arrangements blend
Celtic, country and classical elements of Traditional tunes into
a seamless whole. The group includes Kathy Folkerts on flute, tin
whistles, guitar and vocals; Bobbi Hurst on hammered and lap dulcimers,
tin whistles and recorders; Tony Janacek on guitar, mandolin, and
vocals; Angie Kieltyka on hammered dulcimer, and bodhran; Ken Kieltyka
on lap dulcimer and percussion; and Lynn Malnekoff on violin and
viola. Innisfree can provide an ensemble from three to seven pieces
for a variety of events including weddings, private parties, public
appearances and educational performances.
